Abstract

ICGV is a network organisation and project office in one, setup in 2006 to mobilise knowledge from Wageningen University & Research Centre and University of Maastricht for the benefit of (1) health of the citizens of northern Limburg and (2) agro-food companies in the same region.

WUR mainly inputs existing and new collected knowledge on quality and composition of fresh produce (i.e. for various cultivars, also those that are not yet or usually no longer commercially produced). UM s role is in establishing the health benefits on the level of ingredients and products.

Our participation enables more efficient flow of knowledge to a region that is very important in terms of economic benefits (agrofood production & export) and gives WUR better access to companies and resources in the region.

Doel
Primaire doelstelling is het ondersteunen van het Innovatie Centrum Gezonde Voeding te Venlo, door inbreng van wetenschappelijke expertise aan programma s. WUR (vooralsnog vooral DLO) profiteert van deze samenwerking door grotere zichtbaarheid en PR in de regio, nieuwe projecten en een nieuw bedrijfsnetwerk. Daarnaast omvat de samenwerking ook voedingskundigen van UniMaas en Fontys-Venlo.
