| Streptococcus suis is a major cause of infections in piglets leading to meningitis arthritis and septicemia. Occasionally S. suis can cause meningitis arthritis and endocarditis also in human. The main subject of my project is to identify and characterize potential new virulence factors in S. suis and their role in pathogenesis. |
