| A first step in sustainable development of agricultural production is quantification and a continuous monitoring of the economic, ecological and societal performance of agricultural production systems. This PhD project aims at the development of a monitoring tool for animal welfare and product quality on Dutch dairy farms. This tool will be developed in cooperation with The Animal Health Service (GD Deventer), based on relating accessible farm data (e.g., longevity, calving interval, incidence of diseases) to indicators for animal welfare and product quality for around 100 dairy farms. |
