Abstract

This life writing research is based on the private archive of E.C. van Dorp (1872-1945) and focuses on archivalisation and archiving processes. Van Dorp was one of the female pioneers in economic end law sciences and played significant roles in politics and the suffrage movement. Her estate documents her awarenes of the importance to be remembered through her archive. You kan follow the research process as part of an interactive virtual archive.

Abstract (NL)

Middels een historisch biografieonderzoek naar het leven en werk van E.C. van Dorp (1872-1945) wordt nagegaan welke rol archivaliserings- en archiveringsprocessen hebben gespeeld in het leven van deze pionierster in (rechts-)wetenschap, liberale politiek, emancipatie en economie. Haar omvangrijke nalatenschap biedt veelvuldige aanknopingspunten voor onderzoek naar de manier waarop van Dorp bewust aan een herinneringsmonument voor zichzelf en anderen uit haar omgeving heeft gebouwd. Het onderzoeksproces wordt samen met het virtuele archief interactief vormgegeven.
