| 12T10:48:23.227+01:00 Summary: This research concentrates on the life, poetry and world view of the Dutch poet and theologian Jacob Revius (1586-1658) and will result in a biography, which will be submitted as a PhD thesis. In it, the life of Revius and his poetic works will be assessed and discussed in the religious, political, social and literary context of his time. Being a Calvinist opinion leader, he may serve as a model for the Calvinist reaction to different trends in the seventeenth-century culture of the Dutch Republic: in church and society, in literature, arts and sciences.
