Samenvatting (EN)

This study evaluates the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of two implementation strategies, aimed at increasing the adherence of occupational therapists (OTs) to a community based OT guideline (Graff et al., 2006) for older adults with dementia and their caregivers. The two strategies will be compared using a clustered RCT. The OTs in the control group will receive a 3-day post-graduate course. OTs in the experimental group will receive a 2-day training, coaching on the job, a web-based reporting system, and a discussion platform in addition to the 3-day post-graduate course. In the experimental group physicians and managers receive information about the OT guideline and will be motivated using egular reminders and feedback. Measurements on OTs, physicians, and managers will be taken at baseline, 6 and 12 months after baseline. Measures are also taken at client and caregiver level (e.g. quality of life, daily functioning) at baseline, 6 and 12 months after baseline.
