If the pressure on land resources is intense, the question appears whether multifunctional land use is an option. A lot of literature exists about the options for combining land functions. Within this multifunctional land use literature, spatial planning seems to be missing to a large extent. To realize multifunctional land use, spatial planning has to be taken into account.
Within this research project we will focus on the question:
What are the options within spatial planning law for implementation of multifunctional land use in the Netherlands, and how can spatial planning law be included in spatial research about multifunctional land use to improve the implementation options?
Research objectives:
The aim of this research project is to investigate the impact of spatial planning law on implementation of multifunctional land use in the Netherlands, and to address in which way spatial planning law can be included in spatial research about multifunctional land-use to improve the implementation options.
