| Experts play a very important role in modern day society. They provide us with advice, and we delegate decision-making power to them in specific areas. Experts are often concerned about appearing well informed. Recently developed economic theories show that such concerns can be a mixed blessing for society. In this project we want to undertake the first experimental investigation of some of the hypothesized behaviour of committees that are moved by career concerns. Included is an investigation of a committee?s reaction to demands to become transparent. Such a demand often stems from a desire to improve accountability. |
