Description: We will orgnanise an international workshop under the title System Innovations, Knowledge Regimes, and Design Practices towards Sustainable Agriculture . To emphasize the international character an international scientific committee will be decide upon critical aspects like the program and selected participants. There are two main types of sessions, viz. (1) understanding system innovations in agriculture and (2) inducing and stimulating System Innovations in the sector (governance). Because of the second theme, a number of policy makers will also be invited.
After the workshop the scientific committee will evaluate the proceedings and, if there are sufficient paper of quality, aim to publish these in an edited volume or a special issue of a scientific journal. Furthermore, it will produce a policy report with the most important findings relevant to policy makers. If there is sufficient interest among Dutch policy makers the organisers will also organise a Dutch policy workshop.
Research objectives: The workshop has a threefold objective:
1. To deepen insight in system innovation processes in the agricultural sector 2. Improve possibilities for governance towards sustainable agriculture (via generic policies as well as projects) 3. Building a network of researchers to facilitate international co-operation, e.g. via EU projects.
Results and products: The project will produce the following output:
1. Workshop report: Collection of papers and comments by peers 2. Policy report 3. Policy workshop (if there is sufficient interest).
Edited volume or special issue of journal (if there are sufficient papers of quality). |
