| GTECTON is a well-tested and reliable finite element code for modeling coupled multi-physics, including computational solid dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, conductive and advective heat transfer, and surface processes (erosion and sedimentation). It was developed in our research team. The code was recently upgraded to also run in parallel. In-house tests on multi-core systems demonstrate excellent scaling properties of the parallel code. However, both the maximum number of cores (8) and the amount of memory were quite restricted (4GB). In the proposed NCF pilot project we aim to test the scalability properties of GTECTON under conditions that are more suitable for parallel computing. |
