| Previous research has been unable to disentangle inherited and environmental factors that cause socio-economic behaviour satisfactorily. Using genetic data from cohort studies across the world it is possible to investigate this problem fully and thoroughly. The aim of this project is to identify the particular genes and the various direct and indirect causal pathways leading from genetic predisposition to socio-economic behaviour. Until now it remains challenging to identify genetic determinants of socio-economic behaviour, because it is multiple causal steps away from biology. Therefore the project aims also to investigate the heritability and genetic determinants of intermediating variables. |
