Abstract

Jus Post Bellum and the possibility of greater fairness and sustainability in conflict termination and peacemaking, based on analysis of just war theory, peace settlements, norms and principles in the area of peacemaking. The origin, scope of application and reception of ?Jus Post Bellum? in the ethics of warfare and contemporary international law. The evolution, definition, trigger mechanisms and applications of the concept, including its relationship to jus ad bellum and jus in bello and its use as a constraint on violence and as an instrument of conflict-management.
