Abstract

The Guild of St. Bernulphus in Utrecht played an important role in the manifestation of catholic belief after 1870 in architectur, decorative arts and visual arts. This thesis tries to give insight in the visualisation of catholicism in the Netherlands in the 4th quarth of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century

Het Bernulphusgilde in Utrecht speelde een belangrijke rol in de manifestatie van het katholieke geloof na 1870 in architectuur, decoratieve kunsten en beeldende kunst. De studie beoogt inzicht te geven in de invloed die dit Gilde gehad heeft op de uiterlijke vorm van het rijke roomse leven in Nederland in het vierde kwart van de negentiende eeuw en in de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw.
