01 / 2012 - 09 / 2014
The research is centered on the history of a Western Anatolian county; the county of Foçateyn in the age of wars and nation states. It discusses themes like forced migration, World War I, Greek and Turkish nationalisms, establishment of the Turkish Republic and regional dynamics in a local history context. It tests our macro narratives about the transformation from Ottoman Empire to Turkish Republic on a micro history level.
